If you hasten down to Hastings you’ll find a brilliant munch at the Marina Fountain pub seaside St Leonards, (Hastings folk welcome too…come on and lower the tone…or try to be as posh as what we are.). Rubberists abound

The Wrong Trousers

I’ve recently been attending perhaps too many fetish nights. It’s a real commitment, especially forking out for new outfits or travel when you’re doing it free. Torture Garden is returning to Paris this summer after the warm reception to their inaugural event in June last year at Glazart. Their second full-scale event will take place June 5th 2010 at the newly refurbished La Machine – a club that some may know of as Locomotive in the heart of Paris’s sleaze district Pigalle. TG prides itself on hosting the best in fetish and alternative performance, from burlesque a la Dita Von Teese  to the cutting edge bodyshock performances of Lukas Zpira and Satomi

Why is fetish clubbing so much better outside London, when everything else is so much worse? The fetish scene started in London, back in the ‘80s and the best thing about it was the camaraderie. The explosion of BDSM sex was pretty striking, no question, but my most powerful memories are of the good humoured mutual acceptance of subs, doms, trannies, bondage fans, gays, artists, feminists, academics, writers and rubberists.
